I tend to use the analogy of seeing a nice, shiny red Ferrari. It can be aesthetically pleasing to me and yet I wouldn't buy one if I had the money. My choice would be different. Being as choice is the crux of what keeps us in a relationship, the things that we find pleasing on the eye have little to no real effect. Do we look, often yes. Would we touch? Most likely not and if we would then it makes a bit of a mockery of the relationship that we're in.

Some things are just hard not to notice and in some way it's part of our programming to notice. It's not part of our programming to be an asshole though, that one is a decision that we make or don't make.
