Default Depressed Girlfriend Wants Space HELP!!!!

Things are perfect with my girlfriend when were together and weve never had a fight. We always have such a good time together and I know she is crazy about me and I can tell just by the way she looks at me and that fact that she cant keep her hands off of me when were together…. But she is suffering from anxiety and depression and says that I should move on and that she needs time apart to figure her stuff out. Ive always supported her and stuck by her side and she has appreciated it. But she thinks that Im hurting because of this and now thinks she is a burden to me. Ive told her Im not hurting but she doesnt believe me and still wants time apart. I agreed for her to give her some space. We havent talked in 2 weeks. I want to reach out to her and see how she is doing. Ive never known anyone with depression and I know girls think differently than guys. What should I do? What should I say to her? Im trying to better understand depression and what she is thinking and going through. Any advice or information helps. Thanks

I am sorry to hear that.

Well, one can never know what depressed person feels, there is enormous variety of bad feelings that we have. But, i think, that writing something simple, like, "thinking of you", "missing you", " i love you, dont forget that", "i am there for you", would not be pushy in any way, and that it would mean much to her.

Best wishes, i hope she will feel better soon and that you two will get back together soon.

We all need some alone time in our lives at some point. Just keep her in mind, from time to time, notify her that you are thinking of her, that you are there, that you never left, and if its meant to be, you two will develop even deeper and better relationship.

Good luck.

I have a good sense of what you're experiencing. You see her hurting and it tears you up inside as well. You want to fix whatever is wrong. You can't. You're looking for the magic bullet that would make everything all nice and wonderful again, for her and for the two of you. There isn't one. Trust me on this. The best thing you can give her is the time and space to work on her issues. By all means tell her that she does and will continue to have your love and support, that would probably mean a lot to her as well. Do try to keep some lines of communication but try to steer clear of "you and her" related topics. She'll decide if or when she's ready to work on your relationship again. It's not going to be easy for you either, but be patient. When two hearts truly are meant to be together they will always find their way back to each other.
