Default Reassure Grams

Hi TA, all you can do when Grams cries is to reassure her and try to change the conversation to something more peaceful...or maybe she just wants a good cry....I find that rubbing mums arm, for leg or even giving her a big hug and a kiss this seems to help....Touch is very important to older people....need to feel loved....You have the stepmother from hell!!!! I have the sister frome exactly the same place.....I hope your step mother is not mean or cruel to Grams..cause that is not acceptable...or has her life been interupted....if she is anything like my sister, is is a interuption....You will find this kind of situation brings out the best in people or the very worst.......Some people just dont have that love in their heart to be supportive...or a brain in their head...either way it is a stress......Listen to your Grams about her wishes and wants, though it is hard...these moments are sooo special and you can hang onto them forever......((((((((hugs)))))))) mamabear

Thnx mama, You always kno what to say to make me feel better about getting on with it!! S/M is a bitch but its words of hate that soew from her mouth. I know she doesn't handle stress at all..when my dad was sick a few years ago she intolerable!! I could barely visit him Oooooh!! She really ticks me off!!
I'm glad your feeling better dear! I can relate to so much of what you go thru!
I've decided the course of action will be me ignoring s/m and taking the very best care of grams that I can! I just wish that grams was able to ignore her too! I keep telling her that she (s/m) is just a miserable humun being!
I've only a little time this morn. Dad has an early meeting. Hope to talk to you soon! :D
Love Ya

Hi TA, can someone talk to s/m about how her stress levels is not doing anything to make Grams feel comfortable....God people make me angry.....yes, some handle sickness yet others think by being arseholes is going to either make it better or go away......I know how anger can chew you up...God I was angry at my sister so much. still am to a degree.....I guess when you are so emeshed in the person you are caring for's needs....you need to aim your frustration at someone.....and it happens to be the person who makes the journey harder rather than simpler.....Can your father talk to his wife.....or is that out of the question......Mate, i have smacked my older brother, and nearly punched my sister lol.....I guess I have supressed my piss offedness.....but I will unleash oneday...when mum has passed....I think when someone precious to us is near the end of their lives, many miniscual things that people make a big fuss about just does not seem important.....Hope all is well with Grams (((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))) to you, Grams and Dad. s/m misses out lol

Love mamabear

Question How is Grams

Hi Ta, how is Grams today......and especially how are you?? I just wanted to tell you...early this morning I was having a lot of minor panic attacks in my sleep....and wouldnt you know it...my dad rang and he told me mum had fallen down in her bedroom this morning......I just feel so intuned to her hey....all these little incidences cannot be coincidental...this has happened on quite a few ocassions now........I had a fight with god....you can read it in my sadness thread......You can tell your Grams that I think of her everyday....strange......I wished I had a Grandmother....I never did...I did have one but she lived over east and I never knew her.......Maybe you can share yours with me and we can look after her together....silly I know but......How is your confidence going with the caring???? It takes a while but I am sure you will master it because you love her and are willing to go the extra miles.....You are a wonderful person (((((((((<3 Hugs)))))))))))))))))))mamabear

Hi mama, grams is doing amazing well!! she is being more alert even after me leaving her oxygen off for an extra hour yesterday! She takes it off to go to bathroom and when she finished and we sat down in living rom we started to do out bible studies and an hour later she says Oh..I don't have my oxygen on! She laughed about it ..I about came unglued in my head! I mean the nurse has said that as long as she feels good that having it off a bit wont hurt but...idk! I'm making a very consentrated effort to make damn sure its always on now!
I've read your post..Is your mum alright and it is odd that you would have an attack at the same time she was taking a fall! I believe you could be intune with her! I've heard of that kind of thing...hell I've expierenced it with my kids on occasion! I do hope that your attacks go away!
I'll glady share her with you mama! I will tell her all about you today! She is in amazment of the internet! And I am too! I'm feeling much more confident and we are getting along splendedly! We weren't that close up untill her illness..she lived about 100 miles north of where I'm at. So it really is a blessing! I mean to have her here!Mama I think your pretty wonderful too!!
Love Ya,
TA
