I'm glad it is going well having her there, ta. Maybe you could involve your kids with her more? Is that a possibility?
*hugs*

Smile Thank You <3

Hi mamabear,
Thnx for the kind words! Your always so good to me! I think you are pretty darn amazing yourself! You have alot more to do then I do! And your threads NEVER bore me!
Today went well, I'm feeling alot more comfortable around her. Today I got her dressed all by myself! Usually dad has it done before I get there but he was running late so I did it. Luckily she is a tough ole bird! She is able to help alot!
We got our bibles out and did "our daily bread" together. Thats a monthly inspirational book with devotions and scriptures to look up and discuss. It was really nice. She said that she had missed doing that since she got sick in Jan. She a very devoted Christian and never missed church. It's hard on her now that she can't go..but with the progress she is making I wouldn't be a bit surprized if shes back real soon
She wasn't real keen at first me sitting with her all day, but after we broke out the bibles she was visibly more interested in having me around.haha
I hope things are going better for you!! Did you get your car fixed?
Thank you again dear it means alot <3
Love Ya,
TA

Hey TA this is a great turnaround from your original post. Is your Grandma the basis for some of your story that you have been writing at all? Perhapsl ooking after your Grandma will be good for you in the sense that your attention is not so fixed on your kids and you won't worry for them as much as you have been. Is Sarah used to having you there when she needs you?

Default Angel

Yes TA you are an angel to your grams, not one of my parents grandchildren are involved with her care, not even my two.....it is all family sewage....That is the key to looking after aged people finding a way to communicate with them on their level...I regularly give mum and manicure (and paint her nails), footspa and a pedicure.....I massage her feet every day to prevent skin tears.....and even rub her arms with Sorberlene to prevent the dryness....I put curlers in her hair....just to make her feel better.....maybe these are the little things you can do for grams....they love the attention...these may help to make the atmosphere calm......could the priest come to her and pay a visit....the more you involve yourself in her personal care the greater the trust honey......and just imagine the wealth of knowledge stored in her memory that over time will be wonderful memories to hold onto....((((hug)))))
As for the car....hummphhhh the bloody battery died when I got it home so had to get a new one....but in the scheme of things it is only a car........the money part is a bit scary though.......but I got over it very quickly....I started to really stress and get a pain in my left ovary (it is somatic - caused by stress).........popped a couple of my little pills and feeling better and thinking straighter.......Thanks for asking lol

Smile You make me smile!!

Hi mamaYou have such a good attitude! I really admire your strength!
I'm getting ready to head over there now. I have my bible and daily bread devotions so I'm looking forward to reading with her and discussing scripture which I'm not very knowlagable about! I guess I will know alot more soon LOL She gets so sad at times thinking she is a burden to everyone. She will tear up and it breaks my heart!
The nurse left us some lotion for her legs and feet because of her dry skin so today I will be massaging her legs and feet! I hope she likes it! I know I would!! I think I'll tease her and ask if she will do mine when I'm done with hers! The aid is also over today to give her a bath. She is getting stronger and has gained 3lbs since coming home! I'm very proud of her!
Yes I'm thinking that I might call Pastor Melton and see if he could come over for a visit..I'm sure he would.. he is a very nice man!
Thank you so much for your advice and kind words mama
I hope you have a wonderful day! And hope your family is doing well!
Love Ya,
TA (((((((((((((((((((mamabear)))))))))))))))))))

Delta..Hello! :D No grandma isn't the inspiration for that. It's my moms side of the family that is giving me material to write about LOL Most of what I'm writing in the story is not real but bits and pieces are thrown in. Like my mom is a religious fanatic!! Really!
Yes Sarah is very used to me being around for her..Tho that wasn't always the case..I'm thinking that she has some resentment towards me for not being around when she was 14-17. I mean I was around but really wasn't any good for anyone! Then I got sick and left old habits behind, well most of them anyway LOL! I worry so much about her! She has been "out there" again now for over a week! Dad has offered to pay for her to go back to tech. school..she has been interested in criminal justice :D I have to smile whenever I say that because she will have to do alot of straightening up and she as of now has not!
Thnx for reading my story..I plan to work some more on it while at dads today while grandma is napping! Have a wonderful evening dear friend *hugs*

Will you ask Sarah to get involved with the care of your Grandma at any level?

Wink Good Morning

well it is here anyway, just having my first coffe for the day (and smoke) haha...Hello TA just checking in to see how the visit went with Grams.........hope it all went well for you both. I assume Sarah is your daughter.......would be great for the three generations to be together......yes I agree with delta...ask your daughter if she wants to be involved.....My daughter rarely has anything to do with my mum, or should I say any of mums grandkids.......when my mum would drink at parties my sister and I had....she would always cause trouble...I guess she was jealous because when we were kids she could never afford anything for us...my dad use to drink and gamble everyday except Sunday...ironic isnt it.........God created the earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th...is their a pattern here......however she did the best she could at the time!!!!!

The skin cream is important to rub on your Grams skin as it is like paper and when it tears bloody hell it takes weeks to heal.....If you ever wont to know how to apply dressings and what to use mate I am a wizard lol....what creams to use on a sore bottom.....yep I know the ones.....

My dad makes me laugh he reckons, as I do everything for him and mum, though he still does the shopping (not much else) I should be a lawyer, nurse, doctor hahahaha!!!!!!!!!! All in a days work lol......

I am getting mum from hospital in a few hours, I am quite nervous..it will take a few days to get her reorientated again......maybe you can say a prayer for us, as you are a strong believer.....I have never been overly religious even now how could God to this to a woman who has had such a terrible life......anyway maybe you can get him to listen mmmmmm.

Your a good person, doing a great job ((((((((((((((((((((TA))))))))))))) mamabear
