Exclamation New Addition.....

Today, my daughter truly, not only suprised me, but didn't plan too well. I was at home and she asked me to come outside. Needless to say...it was a beautiful puppy! Now, I DIDN'T ask for one, NOR did I want a puppy now. He's SO beautiful, I just broke down and cried! He's part Blue Healer and looks like part Shepard!

I'm NOW looking for a name, for my 5 week old boy! Any suggestions, would be deeply/grately appreciated!

Aww I love Blue Heelers! They are gorgeous and quite popular here in Australia. They often end up with names like "Blue" or "Bluebell" which are not too original lol. There was also a TV show called Blue Heelers, but that's not relevant...

Anyway, as for names, if it were my puppy I'd probably go with Drover, because Heelers were bred for droving and that name sounds nice to me. It also suits the sturdy build and personality of Heelers.

Knox, thanks for the suggestion! I do like it! He part Blue Heeler & Rottie! He truly looks MORE like Rottie! He's SO small tho! He's got these tiny little ears! He's a good looking boy! Again, NOT what I really wanted...but it IS the thought that counts!

Ah okay. Well five weeks is very young so explains why he's tiny... Did your daughter say where she got him from?

This page has some name suggestions for Rotties, if that helps. (:

She told me, she got him about 45 mins away from where we live. It IS very young to be away from mother. Usally, it's 8 weeks, even 1 week earlier's ok to seperate from mother; long as drinking/eating. He DOES he, drink; yet tiny....

Sounds a bit suspicious in my humble opinion, but perhaps I'm speaking out of line. He's in a good place with you now and that's what's important for him

Any thoughts yet on what you'll name him? It's so tough trying to come up with a name for pets It's like you want to just get on with things, getting to know him or her, starting up a nice routine, but then there's the menial task of inventing a name lol

Knox - Thank you! It is suspicious! My daughter called the lady that she got him from....she said that she had NO clue they had them! She also said that they were outside! HELLO??? You have puppies, yet you DON'T check them? What are puppies THIS young, outside for???!!! They're NOT in any way(s) ready to even BE outside!! W I really wonder IF they've been dewormed; like she said too! I'm sure she didn't do that either! These puppies are WAY too young to even be away from the mother! I'm NOT looking forward to taking him to the Vet.....

For the names. Here's a few I was thinking of...

Disel, Tank, Hemi, and Dozer. Still have NO idea what to name him?

Ugh, the way some people deal with animals is just horrible. No respect or compassion whatsoever, and no clue how to take care of them! Makes me angry the way they think it's like their inherent right to own pets despite being hopeless guardians

Anyway, from that list I like Hemi and Dozer personally. Sometimes the easiest way to come up with a name is to stop trying, and after a while when you get to know the animal's personality a name just pops into your head which seems to fit. I once called my kitten Bandit just because that's a name I saw on a dog tag in the vet when we picked him up lol.
