My Mood:
Default Do you find it easy to talk to a therapist?

Hello, I don't post much ( hardly at all Infact) I think I Have only been to one counciler/therapist before in my life and I'm not the type who can talk about themselves. Whenever I usually try to, I freeze up and just go completely still and silent. in my head everything I want to say comes out clearly but when I try to speak nothing comes out. Same happened when I go to a therapist. Which makes me wonder, how can I seek help when I can't even talk to a therapist or doctor ( which btw I have tried to write it down before but the best I can do is literally one line ). Because I do want to try it, I just feel like the way I am makes me incapable.

So I wonder how others fare.

I have never had much luck speaking with therapists either. You're certainly not alone there. It's good that you see the value in it and that you're trying!

Me either. In fact, my first experience (some time ago now) was actually more depressing than helpful. You need to invest quite a lot of trust, which can be hard, and also have the patience to build up a relationship with them, so they know what to try to get you to talk about. It's great that you want to try - remember that they will be used to people finding it difficult to open up, and that you're very lucky if you click with a therapist immediately, it will take a little time for both of you to get onto the same page. Keep up the positive attitude towards therapy, and I'm sure you will find it starts to benefit you.
