I worked at a center for people with drug addictions until a few days ago and in my contract it said that staff was not allowed to date residents until after a year has passed since the client has left or the staff has. Not sure if the same applies to him.

Maybe that's why he talked about spending time outside of the transition home.

Lulu, you gave me an idea. Maybe I should just wait until I come back to the mental hospital the transition house is at to work, after I finish my course. Then I'll see him again.

Wow, you worked at that place? Where is it; you still in Quebec? Tell me about working there; I'm curious. Why did you leave; were you let go? What made you go back to work? :)

It's close to where I live, relatively close to the border. I was the chef there. It's a center mostly focused on people with criminal backgrounds coupled with addiction.

I got tired of people whining, dealing with a poorly equipped and unmaintained kitchen. Around 75% of the people there were just there just to avoid jail time and when you combine that with the strict rules, it leads to a poor environment to work in. Stuff got stolen or misplaced constantly. No matter what you do there, there's always people complaining and I just had enough. The salary was bad and I had nothing more to learn there anyway so I decided to leave. I can do better.

I met a few great people there but mostly, it showed me how low some people are willing to go for the slightest temporary gain.

Was this place in Quebec? It'd be great if it was; waiting a year to date him ain't that long.

But I'm jumping the gun. He probly never liked me... ever. I know he liked me as a person and talked to me a lot, but... no.

But anyway, it's so great you got that experience tho. Who was complaining? Everyone? What did they all complain about?

Wish me luck. My discharge is today. Please pray for me to make the right choice and to know I made the right one, concerning whether to tell now or wait.

He wasn't in today. :( I'll stop over tomorrow. Good news: I'll still see the psychologist there; all I need is to make appointments with him. I'll see my beloved social worker too, whose office is just a few feet away!

But officially he won't be my social worker any more or my counselor. :( I'll just have to chat with him when I can.

A lot of people who are put somewhere against their will, especially those who see no problem with taking things that do not belong to them or use others without remorse will complain about anything and everything during their stay. Frankly, I'm done with that place and I don't really want to talk about it more than I have to.

I wish you good luck in both living alone and Learning a profession where you can help others improve their lives.
