Thanks for the kind words and hugs everybody.

Tigerlover, you say there are people worse off than me. Maybe so, but how does that change my own situation? Regardless of other people's problems, it really doesn't change anything about what has happened in my life.

yes, you're right about that, from the heart...i wrote that because i find that lots of people focus on the fact that they feel as being the worst on the planet which is never the case..of course it does not change your feelings, but if one considers the fact then one often sees it in a too negative light..I am sorry you misunderstood that sentence....if one undergoes a situation and does not do anything to change it,one stays on a status quo level..

Ok, I think I understand. Comparing yourself only to people who are better off, may not be a smart thing to do. It will probably make your depression worse. If you look at other people suffering and struggling, you will see you are not the only one. You could become much calmer and less depressed. Right?

I find looking at people who are worse off helps me foster gratitude.

I wish I could do that as well, but I am not able to. All I harbor are shame, regret, guilt, grief and anger.

Because of M.E. and COPD my life will get worse in the future. I don't know how much time I have left but I won't grow old. It is pointless to continue a life like this.

My life is over.

There is nothing left here for me. No life, no love, no hope, no future. Everything has been ruined, all is lost.

There are uneducated and heartless people who make disrespectful comments about M.E. In real life as well as here, on the internet. They try to downplay or minimize our illness and plight. Yet another thing M.E. patients have to endure in this world. As if we don't have enough on our plate already. Maybe it is best to just ignore them.
