Talking Worldwide Soccer

Hi everyone, new member here,I was thinking on a subject that maybe will interest some of you on which we can talk about, give some comments on liga, premiere league,Calcio,past/recent events, any news, prognosis, scoop, whatever you feel like talking on soccer.Which league/Cup do you watch most, your favorite team and players. But 1st of all this has to be said loud:"Shame on this team who got qualified with a control by the hand!" and viva Barca!(without Henry).

Go the Gunners.

Henry is the king man. Yeah he cheated with the handball, but this needs to be said, people still love C. Ronaldo -.-

Ok,Arsenal's football is great. But I don't know if you're aware of "the king's" deceiving performance this season compared to the last one.

Lost my respect of FIFA when they allowed France to qualify for the 2010 World Cup on the back of a hand ball.

Being Irish I probably can be accusd of bias here, but surely the Republic of Ireland team should have been allowed to play the French again to sort the issue out once and for all. Look at the Irish players who may never get the opportunity to go to a World Cup again as in 4 years time they will be too old, assuming of course that Ireland ever get that close to qulifying again.

FIFA are always talking about and trying to foster FAIR PLAY.

Where is the fair play here??????????

I don't think there shouldn't have been a replay, but to have done so would have been terrible double standards. I remember an FA cup final where Henry rounded the keeper, took his shot, but the defender stuck out his hand it kept it out. The referee didn't see it and Arsenal lost by a goal.

This crap happens all the time, Arsenal's 49 game unbeaten streak was finished by Rooney taking a dive in the box. Seems it would be helpful to have a video ref reviewing decisions.

Must've hurt for Ramsey btw. Don't really care since I don't like Arsenal, but it's still bad for him =(

JackFlash, those things do happen all the time, I agree. But wouldn't you agree with me when I say this was a bigger thing, missing the World Cup is bigger than a FA cup final, isn't it? =)

And I think that they should add video ref's that, during an incertain situation, look through the replay and see if it's anything wrong.
I'm not sure if it's applicable though, since it'd probably slow down the game by a lot.

Yeah, the World Cup is bigger, but it still needs to be governed by the same rules.

I guess they're happy with the current situation of 'shit happens, refs make mistakes.' Which is fair enough I guess, football's football.

As I write, France have once again won the "Grand Slam" in rugby.

They deserved it.

Ireland missed the chance of winning the "Triple Crown" due to the manager's poor selection decisions...he left his best free taker on the bench (O'Gara) until it was too late. The plonker who was on from the start could not kick his own arse (Sexton). At the very start of the game against the Scots he missed a penalty right in front of the posts that my granny could have scored, with a few other misses. O'Gara came on when it was too late and proceeded to score 2 kicks out of 2 attempts on goal, both from difficult positions.

Why is no-one pointing a finger at Declan Kidney?

However, back to France...they deserved to win The Six Nations and The Grand Slam.

Let's hope their soccer team does not win the World Cup. They do not deserve to be there because of Henry's DOUBLE hand ball (ref blind not once, but twice).

If a more powerful football nation than Ireland was involved in the Henry controversy, there would have been a replay; of that I have no doubt.
