Ghana 1 - Uruguay 1

Diego Forlan equalises from a free kick that veered about in the air like a demented boomerang.

The keeper did not know whether to move right or left to stop his shot.

What is it with these new footballs? They are crap!!!

Uruguay beat Ghana in the penalty shoot out.

My faith in God takes a battering again.

That poor lad that missed the last kick of the game I could cry for him....Poor, poor lad.

Paraguay 0 - Spain 1

Both teams had a penalty saved.

Then Villa scores for Spain with the ball hitting one post, running across the line to the other, strikes it as well, then ends up in the net.

Told you that you need lady luck on your side to get anywhere in football...even at the highest level.

We are down to the semi-finals now...59 games played...only 3 left (4 if you count that meaningless game between the losing semi-finalists).

I'll soon be back to my boring existence again...no World Cup to distract me...alone with my negative thoughts again...and all of you will no longer be bored with my football passion (your silver cloud, I guess).

What the fuck is it all about (life)?

So it will be one of the two football power countries famous for never having won the cup. Ecstasy for one, another heartbreak for the other. Stay tuned.

Howard Webb did a fair and honest job today. He's one of my favourites.

He did OK.

Had he taken any more names in his book he would have ran out of ink.
