Started a new character in Fallout 3, inspired by this thread. Gonna make him the charismatic evil thief type. I robbed and killed every shop/clinic/bar in Megaton and now blew it up. But I still can't fucking be mean to randoms when chatting with them. I'm always just nice and then shoot them and steal their shit.

Dead Space. Loving the tense atmosphere and the designs of the monsters... The combat system could be better, but it works.

Also, the clerk that told me this is the scariest game he's played on the 360 has obviously never played Condemned: Criminal Origins.

I can't handle horror games. I mean I like the suspense and horrific things happening, but I can't deal with getting startled. Like something suddenly popping to the screen with loud audio backing it up, it's just annoying. It's ruining Bioshock for me which is unfortunate since the plot seems interesting.

From what I hear, that's mostly what the scares in Dead Space are. That's another reason I really love Condemned; it's terrifying but not because of jump scares. It's more psychological horror, it messes with your head and makes you afraid of everything in the game, basically.

I love horror-oriented games, I just suck at the traditional survival horror games (static camera angles, 'tank' controls, lots of items and puzzles and backtracking; I was really glad when Resident Evil 4 tried something new, and I feel it was successful with it.)

Just re-finished Battle for Middle Earth 2 evil campaign, 2nd and 3d Prince of Persias, whole campaign of Space Rangers 2: Dominators and now am playing Far Cry on Veteran. Amazingly not as hard as I expected, headshots still kill with one bullet.

I thought Condemned was scarier too until I hit a glitch or something and one of the crazy people started acting dumb because they were stuck behind a foot high obstacle. For some reason I couldn't take the game seriously as a horror after that.

I don't like when it's like that, it feels too forced and unrealistic. Kind of like a laugh track on a sitcom.

Still playing Fallout 3, my karma is very evil apparently even though I'm quite nice to some folks in chats. Guess that's not enough when you shoot them in the face the second I see anything useful coming out of it to me. But I'm having pretty fun doing sidequests, visited Underworld which was awesome. Completely missed that on first playthrough.

Also, I wrote a blog post about my video game experiences if anyone is remotely interested. I'm only saying this because the people usually reading it (yes, both of them) don't...know...things...I'm saying.

Splinter Cell Conviction - x360- It is the best SC game yet. They did away with those tedious mini challenges thank god. You have the option to shoot eveything or sneak around. Graphics are top notch. Game is not overly long but have lots of extra gameplay features and multiplayer. I rented but wish I had bought it. I just was not happy with the last two SC so I passed for a rental this time.
