Default Overwhelmed...already...

Hopefully this will pass, but I've been feeling very overwhelmed and school hasn't even started. I have been getting many emails about things I need to get, papers to fill out, etc. and it just seems like I'm behind when I haven't started. I move back the 17th and I work every day until then besides tomorrow and Sunday. But I have stuff I need to do those days. And I've been feeling so tired and exhausted and problems are piling up and I'm just worried that what if this is where my grades start to really drop and there's just so much negative thinking going on...

You'll make it, 20. :)

Hey, when you're moving back in on the 17th, think of me hauling myself all over a strange campus doing orientation!

I'll try to remember that imp. :)

Long time no see!

It's just all so much right now and I'm very organized and because I'm not there, it's unorganized and knowing that I have to work from 7am-1pm for my last day of work on the 17th, then come home, drive 2 hours to school, unpack what I have, go to the stores and purchase some things that I can't bring down there due to lack of room, go to sleep, and then get all this paper work and stuff turned in before Monday...just a lot to worry about. If I miss something, I will be in huge trouble with the program where I might not be able to be in the class and then I'm screwed. I don't want to make a bad first impression with a lot of the people from the program...

Hon, you are organized, and you don't give yourself enough credit.

Sit down and make a list of everything you need to have filled out and turned in, so you can check them each off in turn. that's about the only way I'm getting anything done at the moment- I've got to sit down and make myself a notebook to keep in my purse (the only way I survived undergrad at all).

You will make it.

I was going to post the same as imp, that you should write down a list of everything the emails say they want you to have/do. Then put the eamils you have moved onto the list in a file folder so you don't have to look at them all the time in your inbox. When you get to school things may be busy for the first few days, but they will settle down as far as all the moving and list stuff. That is just technical details. As an organized person I find that a list or two helps take stress off of me. It helps me feel good about looking in my email and not worse stressed when I don't have this big huge pile of 'to do' emails to sort through every time I'm trying to figure out what I need or what is new in there from the school.

Most of what they need you to do other then tuition right at first is not on a strict deadline, to my memory. Just get one thing done at a time, you'll be okay.

Ugggggh...

First day of classes is Wednesday, but I had a meeting to go over everything today for a few hours. My program is pretty small, about 20 people at max, and it was basically the first time meeting any other students in the program. I was trying really hard to make a good first impression, but I don't think I did. Right when I walked through the door, I suddenly felt terrible and anxious and super insecure about everything. I sat in the front of the room, next to one person, and during the break of about 10-20 minutes, people were talking from their seats and I didn't say a word. I'm disappointed with myself. I tried to smile if other people did when they were talking, but I didn't really talk to anyone. So there goes my first impression. When classes do start, people probably already will think I'm a loner and a loser.

I have therapy in about 2 hours and I just feel like crap. I don't even want to go. It's about a 30 minute walk to get there and I just want to curl up in my bed and sleep forever.

You know how I combated my school problems? I didn't go back this semester. I decided instead to pursue my dream of being in a famous rock n roll band. Not what I would recommend for you necessarily, but it feels great to get out of somewhere you don't want to be and start working towards dreams. Maybe you have some dreams?

I can't do something like that. I worked hard to get good grades etc. my first two years to get me into the program. It's not something that I could take time off. I have to stay with the program for 2 years or if anything, take a year off and then reapply for next year. I don't want to do that. I don't have the money to take a year off...

I don't have any type of dream like that. My dream is simple. I just want to be happy, have a family one day, and maybe one or two good friends. That's all I want.
