Shinrin-yoku or Forest Bathing/Therapy

I recently read an article on forest therapy and how it can lower stress and increase overall health. It sounds like spending time being mindful and playing in the woods is healthy on more levels then you might initially believe. I think I often felt this is true intuitively but hadn't read about the idea until now. Here's the article link:

Shinrin-yoku. Forest bathing. Forest Therapy. No matter what you call the practice, the goal is wellness. And like any wellness practice, the more often we engage, the more proficient and healthy we become.
Never heard of practices with these names, but as a naturalist I adore nature, the forests, the jungles, wildlife. For me it definitely brings peace from all angles, particularly changes my mindset and makes me happier.

I agree. Being outdoors especially away from city life has always felt better. The website the article came from is for people who are homesteading or trying to live more naturally. If that is an interest of yours, there are many articles published through the niftythomestead site that are great to read and can help in broadening out what you try or do in your healthy outdoors goals.
