Bit into my cheek, sore has lasted a week now

So I bit into my cheek last week while I was talking and it left what I think is called a "canker sore". I've been told to rinse it out with salt water in my mouth and I supress the pain from the salt water with an oral analgesic. My mouth still hurts like crazy to the point that I'm crying. I can't eat any spicy food or that'll make it worse...and I'm from India so I pretty much live for spicy food. This is painful itt even hurts to smile and I do an awkward half smile. Someone help me, I refuse to go to a doctor for something this small, I'm not paying that kind of money...I just want it to stop so my mouth can stop hurting everytime I open it. ;-;

Ouch, I feel for you. I hate those ulcers, but they usually go away in a week or two, and yes, you have to change the diet a little too (I love spicy food too, we have a lot here also). Salt water will just clean the area,

Honestly, if you can't go to a doctor, I'd suggest asking at a good pharmacy for what you might use for it - here they know what to use for most common things like this, just ask what you might require.

I don't recall if creams help them go away quicker or just numb the pain a bit, but you don't have many choices - and if it is what you say, I don't think a doctor could do much more than prescribe similar anyway. Basic painkillers might help too. The earlier you check the earlier you'll start to heal. Asking without need for doctor shouldn't cost anything, and you shouldn't need anything signed by doctor for medications.

Hmmm...should I try hydrogen peroxide? Or is that basically the same as using the salt water?

I've no experience, sorry. Sounds like it's an antiseptic of sorts so I guess it would do a little more than the salt water (which I think just cleans out).

Hydrogen peroxide would help kill more germs than salt water, so you might do 1 rinse each day with hydrogen peroxide, then later in the day do additional rinses with warm, very salty water. Be gentle when you brush your teeth, too, and avoid the hurt area.

And put a warm damp compress on your face as often as you can. If it helps you can alternate with a cold wet compress -- maybe 1hour warm, 1 hour cold.

Super late reply, but I got another really bad one and I’m still crying like a baby. ;-; I have to brush only on my right side of my mouth even with a soft toothbrush becuase literally ANYTHING that touches it hurts enough that I scream in pain. The only hydrogen peroxide I seem to have now says “for external use only” and I’m stuck at home till Sunday. It hurts so much!! 😭
