Anxiety around women
I've never been the best with women but lately I've found it impossible to flirt.
For example earlier tonight I went through the steak and shake drive-thru and this pretty blonde girl named Danielle was at the window. I pulled up, paid for my milkshake, and when she was giving me my change I said:
"Hey, Danielle right?"
She leaned out the window with a smile on her face and said "Yeah?"
Then I panicked and didn't know what to say and got all awkward. Oh the look on her face after that...
Could anybody please give a young man some advice on how to talk to women?
It is only awkward if you make it awkward. Smile a lot and be gentle then you are already a long way down the road - you could also compliment their shoes, I've heard it should be a great icebreaker, hard in the drive-thru thou :)
You just really have to relax as much as you can. Calm your breathing and calm yourself, think about something you like.
Smile and just start with hello, how are you today? or how was/is your day? it's the easiest thing, say something nice about her hair,
hair is something really important for girls so it's a good and normal start.
You can practice it at home as well, that helps also. Just try to be natural and little funny at the beginning.
I have found brutal honesty works well. i.e.
"You know last time I came through here I was all set to flirt with you and then I saw you and your cuteness completely disrupted the connection between my brain and my mouth. I think I said something like, "Duh, blah, doblah." or something equally stupid. Just know it was not cause I'm stupid, but just cause you are incredible. Anyway, I'm going to go home and work on my flirting in front of a mirror and try again next time."
^^ LOL, that would be a good save !! I say go for it, you have nothing to lose and maybe a date to gain.
