I got on it recently and it saved my life with depression. I'm currently on 300mg xr.

I feel weird, but weird is better than suicidal and depressed. I'd say I went from being suicidal to being just depressed and anxious again. I have a lot of mood swings too.

It bothers my stomach a lot, that's the only side effect I've noticed. My sex drive is better which is odd.

ive been on it 2 months seemed to have helped im also getting quite lucid dreams
ive see other forum where people have negative reactions to drugs but as said above everbodys different. ovbiously if u notice big change to go back to your doctor

Hello angels losing sleep, in my experience it helped partly, most side effects occurs on higher doses, i cant say i have any tho, im on 450mg atm, give it a try, everyone react diffrently and if it dosnt work theres gotta be some other pill out there :)

hi, i know this thread is a bit old but it is of interest. i was on 150mg xl but have just been upped to 225 in the morning and 100mg of trazodone in the eve. (havent started them yet though) I get dizzy if i miss a dose and i get terrible night sweats but apart from that i dont think i get anything else, except of course it doesnt seem to be lifting my depression although the psychiatrist says that if i wasnt on them i would be much worse. hope the higher dose helps. oh and anti d's always have an effect on my sex drive but as i am not with anyone i guess it doesnt matter!

3 yrs ago my Psychiatrist put me on 300mg Efexor XR.
I took 1 after breakfast and another 1 of the 150mg after lunch.
within a week I notice my hair is falling. everytime I shower, washed my hair, I could see lots of hair falling.

I became so shock, and panic. Told the doc about this. and he changed to other meds.

But efexor is good, it gives me motivation, positive outlook, but i could hardly notice the lessening of my anxiety. in fact , to me , it caused more anxiety.
