Has anyone out there have any advice about stopping medication. I'm not going to do it without my doctors input, and not until after the holidays, but I can't stand this medication anymore. I have been on some sort of antidepressant for over 6 years, and I really don't think it helps that much, or the way that I want/expect it to. I don't like the side effects. I just feel at a loss. I have tried to go off meds before, and it left me crying all the time and feeling depressed, but maybe I didn't give it enough time, or didn't do other things that could help me.

If you have successfully gone off your meds, and have some insight on how you dealt with it I would appreciate it!

I personally haven't had any success at stopping my meds, just changing them. If you find a good doctor, they can help you find a medication suited to your needs. But that's only if you're open to trying a new medication.
