It seems to happen at random when I am under stress or thinking stressful thoughts... but I feel a 'ticklish feeling' run through my body for half a second followed by a massive jerk of my head and neck.. Ive never done it infront of a mirror before, but I think I pull a face too...

I feel like an idiot when it happens in public, though lucky I don't go out in public a lot.

Anyway... are there ways to treat things like things ?

i have struggled with nervous twitches for my whole childhood. i have learned to focus on them and control them, but when i get very anxious, sad, depressed, they can start up. the trick is to really focus on them and force them away. its hard at first, but you will get the hang of it. when i get very anxious and stressed, i can feel my eyes start to blink more rapid and much harder. it increases to where i am forcefully smashing my eyelids down for a second.... every few seconds. when i was younger, i had many ticks. my family and friends would point them out and make fun of me. i had no choice but to focus all my energy on not twitching. it went from flaring my nostrils, to making "fish lips" (kissing lips?), to forceful blinking... etc..
