Default Kidney Stone

Had a nice ambulance ride to the ER yesterday. I was in so much pain. SO much pain. It turns out I have a rather large kidney stone, and have less than a 50% chance of passing it naturally. It measured 6mm.

I'm really scared. I don't want to go through surgery to remove it. And I'm afraid of the pain it'll cause if it passes through my urine.

I'm on 4 meds right now. An anti-biotic, percocet for pain, ibuprofen and something to help widen my urethra to help it pass. I see the Urologist Monday, not sure what to expect.

I'm trying my best to drown myself with water.

Does anyone have any tips on helping it to pass??

I'm afraid I don't have any tips Mousey, I just wanted to offer my sympathies and to bump this thread up a bit too

My father has had kidney stones before a couple of times and I know from him how unpleasant it can be. Wishing you a speedy recovery

Thank you both. I'm so sorry you had a kidney removed, faxman. That must've been a difficult recovery.

The stone still hasn't passed. I go for more xrays and an ultrasound next week to see right where it's at. They'll probably have to put in a stent and use some soundwave thing to break up the stone into smaller pieces. I just want it to all go away....
