Say you're sitting, or laying down and for whatever reason you decide to get up, and then for the next 3-4 seconds you become dizzy and your vision becomes blacked out.

This has happened to me many times in the past but I never really thought too much about it because it always goes away after a few seconds, but lately it's been happening more than usual...

Yeah! I get exactly that every once in a while. Cant see anything, all black & stars, legs all woobly. I'm not sure exactly why what it is... But it probably has to do with blood rushing away from the head.

I haven't ever seen anyone else experience that though. I wonder how common it is.

Maybe you're on to something there, but I find it really strange that it's been happening to me so often recently. It has already happened to me 8 times so far this week.

Happens me a few times a week, especially when getting out of the bath or when I stretch.
Orthostatic hypotension - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia is what it's called. It's when your blood pressure suddenly drops which happens when you stand up.

It may be worth seeing a doctor especially if it has only come on recently as it sometimes points to more serious conditions. But I've had it all my life but all it does to me is black out my vision, makes me dizzy and makes my head hurt so isn't too much of a problem.

I've had it for a long time, just seems to be happening more often recently, which now that I think of it, could likely be because I haven't been eating much recently, less than usual, which isn't very much to begin with.

It's probably the lack of food causing it to happen more often now. Just stand up slower.

I always looked at it as a cheap and safe high :-p But it sucks if someone is expecting you to do something and you just stand up and wobble for a few seconds.
