Default Borderline Personality Disorder

Hi, I was wondering if anyone on here has BPD. I was diagnosed less than a week ago and I'm curious to learn more about my illness and the experiences (negative and positive) of others with BPD. I'm on mood stabilizers, feeling much better than I have in a while.

Hi!
I haven't been diagnosed officially yet but my doctor suspects I have BPD. I will be going to a psychotherapist next week to see what they say.

I think the reason my doctor suspects it is because I have a tendency to fluctuate my opinions A LOT and one minute I'll love something or someone, then hate it. I also have insecurity in terms of deceit, being forgotten, etc, which apparently is common amongst people with BPD.

I have a history of self-harm and although I haven't harmed myself in over 5-6 years, I feel like I could relapse when I have a really bad day.

The support I have had from my doctor and family is amazing and really helps, so if you have somebody to confide in, use it :)

Please feel free to message me if you need me and I'll try to help you :)

Hello cupcake.

Yeah. I suspect I have Borderline Personality Disorder. I self-diagnosed because I do not know how my Life would be once it's official. For more information, you could read the wiki article, Psychcentral, WebMd, among others. I read from them and summarised an understanding. To point out a few points, we, BPD, are sensitive to emotions. We can't regulate them like "normal" people. We can be egoistic or selfless, life of the party or dead weight.
We can both provide and demand support.

We are also based our judgement on a black and white basis. Meaning to say, that we lack the ability to give and take on a situation.
On a brighter note, we are passionate, loyal and a few more. It is because of these traits that we are liked in Society. When we are the opposite, they shunned us.

Miss Molko, I also fluctuated my opinions a lot... it was part of me trying to figure things out. Cupcake, what do the mood stabilizers do for you? All they do for me is prevent me from going down too far, yet they won't give me an antidepressant. *pout*
