98% of the time ( everybody has bad days. ) I figured out a lot of those things a long time ago, though, so it's not as bad as it seems.

e2a - I should add that my brain does it by itself, I don't consciously force myself to do it.

2nd edit - Or maybe I do, and I'm lying to myself? Now I'm analysing that, lmao

There are so many replies to this i just want to give a quick short insight:

Do you ever have moments where your mind IS free from your mental anguish? I get these bits of clairvoyance sooo rarely, but i just want to say that YOU are not your depression, and the negativity and pain are not you. They do not define you. YOU are experiencing suffering. The suffering is not you. You are separate.

Thanks Clair. I'm not depressed.

Did you learn anything from hearing voices Albatross? Does it serve a good purpose? Do you see them as a gift?

Do you like being a loner?

I think talking to myself is too hard to do and it might be pushing the voices down, such that the minute I stop talking to myself or analyzing something, they spring back with a vengeance.

So I guess I'll just let them be there.

Thoughts?

May I...

Of course, you know I'm a loner LOL

That's nice to know you aren't depressed. Oddly, I haven't been depressed overall last night, and today. Strange???

My only thought would be, you might have the right idea there. I don't know that I have voices. I talk to myself a lot though. We are made to feel ashamed for this (I feel). I've worked out many of things on my own by doing this.

Agreed - let them be.

Edit - Oops, ok then. I realized you meant the opposite. Talking to yourself brings you down. Just my opinion, of course

So no more talking to myself in my head to drive the voices out? Just let them be there, right?

I would say yes (no more talking to yourself in your head), that is right. I guess not then. If you aren't depressed, that is really great.

You mostly talk yourself to drive voices out? Without this, I'd have nobody at all.

Sometimes, I guess, being a loner has its drawbacks, doesn't it. When I was not a loner, I hardly ever talked to myself.

What do you think actually? Should I stop talking to myself?

^Sensual, you've given me ideas. I might just create my own thread on this, since I have questions myself, about talking to myself.

Why would you stop talking to yourself? Just pretend to be on your cell phone or something. Or just do it in your head.

You could do positive affirmations like "I'm very attractive, I'm likeable, I'm unselfish...".

As for me, those days are over. No more talking to myself in my head. I will try to embrace the voices and let them serve a purpose. I don't get why it's so frequent though...

Thoughts?

You got it. Embrace the good voices.

Yeah, God SensualGirl, that is what I need to do. Just pretend I'm on the phone. I mutter, and when people catch me, I get embarrassed.

Great ideas :)
