I'm only a few hours in and I'm using the same build from fallout 3, an intelligent gunslinger basically. I found a dead guy called Sinatra, when I searched the body I found 1 bent spoon, 1 empty syringe, 1 empty bag and a belt..... Thought that was amusing

After sinking about 100 hours into fallout 3 i've struggled to get into this one. I did start it (a somewhat similar build to you) but i think i need a break because they are both similar. So its Red Dead Redemption and abit of Pro Evo before exploring the waste lands again :).

One interesting thing happened though, at a low level i triggered some event where i got stuck in a little caravan thing whilst 3 giant scorpions circled and tried to get in- needless to say i died running for it.

I've sunk a good 200 hours into Fallout 3, and probably just as much into TES:Oblivion, which features the same engine and very similar gameplay. That being said, expecting a complete rehash of Fallout 3 with little to nothing to take from it over the past game, a few features came as a pleasant surprise, in particular weapon modding.

As for my character build:

Strength: 6
Perception: 6
Endurance: 6
Charisma: 4
Intelligence: 7
Agility: 6
Luck: 5

Traits:
Built to Destroy (+3% crit chance, weapon decays 15% faster)
Trigger Discipline (weapon 20% more accurate, fires 20% slower)

Tag:
Guns, Repair, Science

Perks: Rapid Reload, Educated, Bloody Mess, Commando, Finesse

Primary Weapon: Cowboy Repeater mod. w/ maple stock

As you can see, I'm going for a crits-raking, accurate, rifleman/sniper build.

Yeah that's pretty similar to my build. I'm amazed at the amount of side quests in FNV compared to F3. I spent 2-3 hours in freeside just doing side quests, ranking up n earning a booty.

I also cleaned out the energy weapons store in freeside, stole the lot, took a while to find the right pixel to stand on to be "hidden"! No loss of karma for some reason, then just sold most of it to make a pretty penny(6000+ caps). Kept some shit for when my EW level is up (10% at mo :(

I love this game, much better than F3 so far. The quests are much more involved and gripping. I wish they had used a different "thingy" to make the graphics better. oh and the fuvking freezing issue

Not sure what Iam going for just go with the flow when I get it and how my mood is.

I hope they bring out a patch soon for the pc, and I hope they bring out add on pack for it too soon for the pc.

I'm gonna order this and Mass Effect 2 I think, sometime soon. I've heard good things. And I'm a sucker for good western RPG's.

i only found 1 cowboy repeater, it didnt look that great....im liking the assault carbine, it is devestating.

I found a little trick for carrying loads of gear, way over your cap. You just drop stuff like big guns and armour on the floor, then lift them into a bin. then just carry the bin. cant fast travel like this though

im kinda regreting not taking the wild perk at the begining

I don't know why I like it for lol it slow reloading but I just don't know why I like it lol.
I have to remember that one lol. Good thing I like about pc is you can Auto run one key pushed and all you have to do is watch for enemy's or rocks that get in you way and move the mouse to look where you want to go, don't even need to hold the move button down lol.

Iam going to take time setting my person up and see what happens :)

LMAO!!!!
Has anyone completed the mission "Wang Dang Atomic Tango"? you get it from The Atomic Casino in Freeside.

If you do get this mission, make sure you go and find "fisto", the sex bot. And chose the dialoge option to "test it out"....

Funny as fuck
