Thumbs up checking my doors and windows- can't seem to stop

keep having to check to see if my door is locked and my windows are closed.

i know they are, but everytime i try and distract myself with other things, the mind wonders back to the door or the window..

been noticing this a lot lately- mainly because of my helusinations.

trying to convince myself all the time that it's all closed and nothing can get in, but it's not working

sometimes i have to do it all night- just looking straight at the door and expect it to suddenly open or something.

anyone else have this?

Yes, it's called obsessive compulsive disorder and is depression related.

I have to check my doors up to 20 times before I leave my house to go to work or shopping. It's exhausting! If I have someone with me I'll get them to check behind me, makes me feel better. When I was on anti-depressants this feeling of checking doors went away. But now that I'm off of anti-depressants I find myself back at it again! I'm trying to keep it under control and I'm trying to have confidence in myself, that I did already check the door.

You might want to talk to a doctor about this. But I know what you're going through.
