The Hurricane that I remember who was World snooker champion in 1972
(at his first attempt) and again in1982.
He earned £3 million in winnings but squandered it all. He died alone in sheltered accommodation in the Sandy Row area of Belfast, the area where he was born.
There are 4 stars in snooker today who will cry crocodile tears over his passing. These are the 4 players that the Hurricane had said took bribes in the past to "throw" snooker matches. These 4 will breathe a sigh of relief.
That's the thing about depression: A human being can survive almost anything, as long as she/he sees the end in sight. But depression is so insidious, and it compounds daily, that it's impossible to ever see the end.
The most important things to do in the world are to get something to eat, something to drink and somebody to love you.
