I agree completely with the above poster.

I trust you, I love you, hell, I love you so much I give you one of my organs and you cheat on me...I want it back or compensated for its loss!

Donating (key word, there: donating) an organ to another person does not mean that they are then your possession or your slave for life, or that you own them, or that they are somehow legally or morally obligated to remain married to you even if they don't love you anymore.

If that's what it meant, then few people would probably accept live donor organs, even if it were their only chance of survival, because a life where you are not free is not a life worth living, really.

The recipient of a donor organ is as human as any of us, and has as much right to seek divorce if her marriage isn't working out as any of us have.

"Donating" something, by definition, means you expect no recompense for it, and that you can't later ask for it back.
There is a reason that organ sale is illegal in this country and most others.

The gift of donation does not have strings attached to it. Simple.

It is neither altruistic or benevolent at even a micro-dot level to hand over an organ with the expectation of ownership or possession of 'property'. Further, to expect gratitude by compliance with your own interests is known as abuse because it is a power relationship where one person holds life over death unless the other person is willing to meet their self-interested conditions.
