The great singer songwriter is dead. Another icon from my youth has gone

Just like another hero of mine, the footballer, George Best, he lost his battle against the bottle.

One of his songs, Baker Street, remains a timeless classic and reminds me in many ways of my own personal "fall from grace". If you have never heard it before, then you are in for a treat:

Was a timeless classic indeed - love the guitar in that 1978

He wwas also in Steelers Wheel - who played the song "Stuck in the middle with you" used in the film "Reservoir Dogs".

Hahahaha I never realized he was in Steelers Wheel! I love Reservoir Dogs, but I'll admit that scene is gross as hell! Baker Street is great though, and the solo's pretty good for an alto sax .

Sad that alcohol abuse did him in, R.I.P. Gerry
