Yeah .. porn is different things for different people. It can be a harmless "outlet," or it can be a destructive obsession/compulsion. For me it's more on the destructive side. If I look at it too much I get "hooked" on it, and it quickly turns into a time sink, keeping me away from things I'd rather be doing--socializing, hobbies, etc. It also bleeds into my attitudes and relations with women--it has a "separating" effect. Like the woman becomes the fantasy, and the relationship is no longer important. So I give up on relationships altogether. Even when relationships are fueled by sex (at least initially), they're still relationships, and relationships are better than solitude. At least for most people, I imagine.

That said, it's also important to have an "outlet" for your sexuality. It's very rare when a guy can just bottle it up and forget about it. For me personally, that's what fantasy life is all about. I need some visual stimulation occasionally (and for that I use PG-rated stuff like swimsuit magazines), but not usually while I'm "taking care of business." My therapist says the "healthy" thing to do is to imagine the healthy idealized sexual relationship you want, and that the business of masturbation is to reinforce that.

Kinda brain-dumped there. Hope someone finds something useful in what I've said ...

I had the same thing about a year ago, its very addictive because it creates time where your not yourself - in the moment the world goes away. I don't think its a bad thing but just to be warned it does drain you of energy and enthusiasm so if you wonder why you can't be bothered to get up and do anything it might be worth cutting down.

About a week ago I decided to stop watching it altogether for the first time in years. Waiting to see how that works out...
