Default How do i deal with this?

How do you act like you don't care what someone thinks or says about you without looking pissed off or depressed? Like my co-worker always imitates my voice and laugh because he thinks its really deep and funny and I know I should just laugh it off but he constantly does it and its starting to annoy me. Short hispanic dude. I'm not very good at come backs and I don't want to be racist in anything I say back to him, so I'm at a lost of how to get him back.

Also my boss keeps making jokes about me being gay because of a time when I said I was always buying food for my two friends, and because I'm 18 and still haven't had a girlfriend. Even though he's my boss, it's not like he's not a fun dude and laughs ALOT at work. Also, that doesn't give him the right to just bash me like that and I can't say anything back. He's like a middle aged married white dude. I'm not sure how I could respond without crossing the line, I'm just getting tired of them making jokes about me, especially behind my back.

One of the main reasons why I don't/can't think of comebacks that well is because I'm afraid no one will laugh at them. Any tips on how to handle these situations?

I'd have a word in private with your boss...just say you'd kind of appreciate it if he'd stop with those jokes. He may not think it bothers you, like you said he likes to laugh and joke around. If he doesn't..then I'd take some action. An employer CAN NOT harass you, or anyone else like that, nor can they knowingly allow you to be harassed by others.

Snappy comebacks don't have to be thought up right at the moment that you need them. If you can expect certain situations to arise, then think up something reasonably clever to say in advance and memorize them. You could even write them down and read them every so often so you can be sure that they'll still be in your head.

Id tell your co-worker straight, no laughing or smiling as this will only encourage him to do it more, just give him a sober look, a slight frown and tell him to cut it out either directly or through a quip. Just do it sooner rather than later.

I was in a similar situation some years back, had a co-worker who spoke normally to everyone else but put on a dumb accent when addressing me. I did the laughs and the smiles which only made him continue but one day it went too far so I just gave him a stern look and told him to cut it out. He stopped immediately.
Take my love, take my land, take me where I cannot stand. I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me.
