Women who are finally ready to settle down and find a life long partner, don't usually go lookin' for guys with only great bodies. We look for personalities. They of course have to find him attractive, but what attraction is to 1 person may not be what it is to another. If I was still searching, I would first look at his face. Check out his smile, his eyes, hairstyle etc....

Gyms are not only expensive, but can cause those who are not perfectly fit to feel uncomfortable. Lately I've been washing clothes in the sink, and my arms are so sore!! Forearms and upper arms. From wringing everything out. It gives me quite a workout! Without even trying.

I can empathize.

Something that might help is to start a regimen. Every day take at least 20 minutes to do some simple exercises that don't require a machine or weights. Push ups are often very underestimated; they tone more upper-body muscles then you might think. You can also try looking online for some other exercises.

Your diet can also effect your body's ability to gain muscle. Try throwing more things rich in protein into your diet once you start up an every day routine, so your body has something efficient it can build into muscle.

You need to have faith and keep on top of it. Building muscle-mass isn't going to happen overnight. Don't get discouraged, good luck!

A few things ...

First, like others have asked .. what are "girly arms"? Is that the same thing as skinny? Or bony? Or just .. feminine? I don't get it. For the rest of this post, I'll assume you just mean skinny and weak.

-> A lot of girls are into skinny guys. My first girlfriend was into my lankiness. Another young lady I know from another message board (who is friggin GORGEOUS) has a boyfriend who's lanky as heck, and she loves it.

-> Do you want to be with a woman who would reject you for having skinny arms?

-> If you want to work on getting stronger, don't let your current weakened state stop you. Everyone has to start somewhere. Even the biggest muscle-bound guys weren't born benching 5000 pounds or whatever. They had to start with 10 pounds .. then work their way up to 18 tons. If you're concerned about going to a gym and looking weird and out of place, don't be. I've been going to gyms since my college days, and there's always a wide variety of people there. From your typical jocks, to average folks, to skinny folks, to chubby folks, to very overweight folks. If anything, it'll make a GOOD impression on others. "Hey, here's a guy who's making a positive change!" And again, remember, EVERYONE HAS TO START SOMEWHERE. And re: pull-ups: They're hard. Who cares if you can't do one. I don't know if I can even do one, and I've been working out regularly for years. Start with what you CAN do, and go from there.

-> Regarding attraction, almost every woman will tell you, physique isn't nearly as important as CONFIDENCE. Almost everything I've read, coming from every kind of woman, CONFIDENCE is the #1 thing that actually attracts women. Not body, not looks, not style. So if you want to work on something, work on that. Incidentally, hitting the gym can inspire confidence! As will anything where you're making a positive change.

ps

I was very small and weak as a teen, (picked on all the time) I started doing push ups and then bought a cheap wieght set at a yard sale. Eating right was the key for me. I have a very muscular build now and no longer get picked on. My problem is that I'm just ugly. I'm afraid no exercise will help me with that. I wear a hat and sun glasses to try and hide the ugly but it doesn't really help.

I'm female and I don't think that "girly" arms are a turnoff at all. I personally don't like over-muscular guys. I think that if you're able to be at peace with your body then girls will be at peace with it too. So you're not the world's strongest guy. I'm sure you have other qualities girls will find very attractive.

Right. And 99% of the time, the best bait is *confidence*, not "manly arms." Remember, women *(generally) don't think like guys do. Men (generally) look for visual cues. A physical "type." Women (generally) look for relational cues. An emotional "type." Not to say that men don't look for emotional compatibility, and that women don't look at looks, just that it's generally not the #1 thing. Seriously, work on your personality. Listen to what women here and elsewhere say. Get comfortable with yourself and others, and they'll get comfortable with you.

part true, but there's still the fact that many women still want their men to look like men just as much as they want them to act like men
