In general, be yourself. By that, I mean show the best parts of you, and hide the worst parts of you. You're not "lying", you're just "putting forth your best image" =P
Other general rules: don't swear, don't be rude to people around you, ie: waitresses, dress well, don't get drunk, don't hit on other women, don't take her out to see a movie (Cliche, and you don't get to talk, which is kinda the point of the date), don't ask too many questions lest this date becomes an interrogation (People who are comfortable with each other talk in statements) - most of this stuff should be common sense except for the last two I mentioned.
Optional: a back up date plan in case your first one fails, an escape (A classic is to have a friend call you halfway through the date. If you're having a good time, ignore it. If not, answer, pretend to be worried, apologize that you need to leave so soon, blah blah blah), some small token to show her that you appreciate her time (I make origami roses)
