Default Coming out

Hi guys,

So wanting a bit of advise.... now I've been bisexual and known I have been since I was around 15 (I'm now 26). Despite this nobody in my personal life knows about my sexuality. I'm finally ready to open about it to my friends and family but I don't really know how. I was wondering how you all coped with coming out and your friends and family's reactions etc? Not going to lie it's a secret I've kept for so long I'm scared to let it out.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know. My parents snooped on my computer and that's how they find out. My advise is just do it when you feel ready.

I am one of the lucky ones. I knew that my parents were openly supportive of the LGBT community ahead of time, which made coming out slightly easier. However, if you are not sure, you can try to find out by casually bringing up the subject of LGBT rights and seeing how they react. If they have a supportive attitude to the community, then there is a high chance that they will support you when you come out. Even knowing that they will react well, it is still terrifying, but you will feel better in the end, trust me. In my experience, the first few times are terrifying, but it gets easier over time. I am now at the point where I openly talk about my sexuality and will refer to my crushes using "she" pronouns without hesitation.
Good luck on coming out, I hope it goes well

Do you really need to come out? Wouldn't it be ok to keep your own business to yourself and only tell people who have to know and can handle it?

I'm still in the closet but I told my friend I was pans and she said "I don't care if your lesbian, bi, pans, asexual or whatever. You're my friend and that won't change because you like girls." So my advice is come out when you're ready and if someone cant handle that you like girls/boys/etc, are they really worth you're time?

I myself didn't exactly came out other then making a pun about pansexuality and none of my friends really questioned it or were surprised. Though many of them themselves are LGBT of some kind or allies. It might be helpful to make sure you have some support from other LGBT members.
