"The gears of poverty, ignorance, hopelessness, and low self-esteem mesh to create a kind of perpetual failure machine that grinds down dreams from generation to generation. We all bear the cost of keeping it running. Illiteracy is its linchpin." - Carl Sagan

"Our species needs, and deserves, a citizenry with minds wide awake and a basic understanding of how the world works." - Carl Sagan

"Science is a way of thinking much more than it is a body of knowledge." - Carl Sagan

"Who are we? We find that we live on an insignificant planet of a humdrum star lost in a galaxy tucked away in some forgotten corner of a universe in which there are far more galaxies than people." - Carl Sagan

"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life." - John Lennon

I love this because it made me realise my priorities. I don't need to be successful to be happy. I can make do on little if I can enjoy it. So, because I want to believe in my idea of the future, I'm trying to get better. I wish all of you the same happiness I'm trying to find xx

Cynics are disappointed romantics; they keep looking for someone to admire and can never find anyone.

For everyone who's lost something they wanted with all their heart.

"He had come a long way to this blue lawn, and his dream must have seemed so close that he could hardly fail to grasp it"
-The Great Gastby

Apparently Bill Gates has this quote inscribed in his house.
