I've already posted a different thread about Nic Vujicic, but he's so inspiring that here's another video of his. I'd skip the first ten minutes if you're short on time.

That's amazing! Where/how did you meet him? I don't agree with all of the things he says, but he is kind of a hero of mine (when I was severely depressed I watched this, and even though I found things to disagree with, I was still tearing up at this. It really did a lot to cheer me up and inspire me).

He maintains a pretty heavy speaking schedule zipping around all over the world. I live in a major travel hub, so he comes to my area several times of year. I would check out his schedule. You never know he may be coming near you :D.

Yeah but I have arms and legs and I'm fucking miserable. Which makes me feel guilty for being so ungrateful. You see these inspiring stories where people overcome such terrible things, and they make me more depressed because these people are doing better than me despite their problems. I hate disabled people. No I don't.

I see your point. There's always two sides. When I first heard he got married and had a kid I felt horrible. People were saying wow good for him and I just kept thinking how does someone with no arms and legs get married and I still can't find anyone? There are always two ways to look at it. Just try not to dwell on it if it makes you feel bad

First of all, try not to compare yourself to others. Instead, only strive to be better than yourself. It's a small tweak in your thinking that can make you a happier, especially if you do it for a long period of time.

Second, for the type of guilt you are experiencing one of the best things to do is to forgive yourself for being the way that you are. That doesn't mean that whatever you did (or didn't do) to feel guilty should be condoned or forgotten. It means that you are going to try to implement changes, and be careful not to repeat the same mistakes. Find ways (no matter how small or seemingly insignificant) to make up for what you have or haven't done.

Yup, he is a great inspirational speaker, i wish i went to his performance( i dont know what word to use honestly, english not my native language xD) when he was coming here in my city. But he is definetily one of best sources of motivation there is, when you are feeling down.
