Cool Always stand your ground

I have this here short story to tell about an experience I had to go through these past weeks.

A bought a used car about 3 months ago. The car had clearly not been given maintenance as it should have by the previous owner. When I got it, the dealer said that the car had been inspected and was in good conditions. This however was not the case as I soon found out. Therein started a two and a half week fight with the dealers to fix my car because they said that the car didn't need no fixing. Apart from the hard discussions they took the rugs out of the car when they took the car in for repairs and then claimed that the car hadn't had any rugs to begin with. I got into a hard and loud to the point of screams and insults discussion with the 6 dealers including the one who apparently bought the used cars to later sell them. On my way back home that day I remember that I had recorded a video prior to leaving the car for repairs and in it the rugs were clearly visible.

When I went to pick up my car, I told the dealer that I had brought evidence about the rugs. The guy got up his chair went outside and like magic I got my rugs back but not before blowing into more insults my way. I simply said "well ok, I'm satisfied now" and left.

I've felt great the whole day because I stood my ground againts 6 people who tried to intimidate me with screams and non verbal corporal threats. So if any of you ever find yourselves in a similar situation, record, document things and no matter how tough the people you face seem, always stand your ground!

Good for you!

But I'm incapable of raising my voice or screaming at anyone. I can feel anger and rage at times, but it doesn't come out. I don't know what I would do if I were an animal living in the wild.

When I was working as a guard, an office building I was assigned to didn`t want bicycles leaned against the glass. I would ask people not to do so and while most would comply, some won`t.

Also, I was told to move the bikes that were leaning against the glass but to a nearby spot that was safe. I would do that and if asked, would tell the person why. Most times, the owner would say fine and no further problems. A few would get cranky but I told them this was the building`s rules, offer them the ops manager`s card and that would be it.

One day, the owner of the bike that I moved freaked out and threw his bike against the wall. He almost hit the glass. After picking up his bike and screaming a few obscenities at me, he left. I kept calm through the whole thing and before he left, told him to leave.

A few days later, he returned and apologized for his actions. He asked where it is okay to put the bikes and I showed him. He thanked me, did his delivery and left. I never had a problem with him since and when another courier started giving me a hard time, actually sided with me and told the guy to cool it. Glad I stood my ground and glad I kept my cool.

Guess as I heard someone say `Cool is the rule.`

Mice don`t scream or roar and they do very well. You`d find a way to survive.
