Parkway Drives new CD "Deep Blue" is pretty amazing for anyone who is interested. For me, the songs "Wreckage" and "Alone" were the best. Especially "Wreckage." I've also recently gotten into an amazing band called Amarna Reign, but I don't know if they would be what some call "metal". But they are worth checking out because they are pretty heavy. My favorite songs by them are "Letting Go" "Deceiver" "The Fight (Isn't Over)" and "Autopilot Suicide." Hmmmm, what else... The song "Subverse" by This Or The Appocalypse is definitely worth a listen. The guitars in that song are so amazing (in my opinion). I also enjoyed the CD The Arctic Front by Beyond The Shore. And the Gulf Of Sharks CD by We Still Stand Alive (esp. "Broken Me") I've also gotten into the band Attila recently. There's also the song "Lifeless" by Chelsea Grin (if you're into realllllly violent lyrics lol). "Tattered On My Sleeve" is a good song, it's old All That Remains (their new stuff isn't as good). I also have a massive appreciation for As I Lay Dying! Then there are the old Haste The Day songs like "Breaking My Own Heart" "American Love" (basically the "Burning Bridges" CD) or the song "When Everything Falls". Some Emmure stuff is good too. (I mainly like their older stuff, but the song "Sunday Bacon" seems to get stuck in my head pretty often.) And MyChildren MyBrides 1st CD. I could probably keep going, but I'll stop here. I don't know if this is the kind of music any of you listen to, but it's the music I love, so I thought I'd share. I enjoy sharing music so I hope at least one person finds something they can enjoy from this list!

Actually, I have to metion one more song! It is the perfect aggression song. It fills me with a powerful feeling. "Give Her A Pill To Make Her Shut Up Or Make Her Mute" by Paddock Park. Not all of their songs are really heavy like that (actually, the guy who sings in the band has a really wimpy sounding voice) but that song is so vicious lol (and the whimpy guy doesn't sing in it). I love it!!!

Talking

Here's what gets my blood pumping, in terms of albums,
"Evangelion" by Behemoth
"Pariah" by Naglfar
"The Fathomless Mastery" by Bloodbath
"Blood Oath" by Suffocation

I don't always feel that enraged, though. Mostly I listen to melodic death metal, such as Dark Tranquillity, Disarmonia Mundi, Scar Symmetry, earlier Soilwork and earlier In Flames.

Then there's really depressing stuff, like Noumena, Katatonia, and My Dying Bride.

I like raw and aggressive music too! I love a lot of different kinds of music, Metal is very dear and just special to me. Some Metal bands and songs lie close to my heart. I must admit I'm really into that Female Fronted Metal stuff. I think because I'm a female I just like relating to female vocals. These bands may seem cheesy at first sight but some of them are really underrated and way heavier than they appear. Of course I love other stuff too, like some bands already mentioned in this thread. From black to Nu, all appreciated!

hahaha, I could write a book about this. :D

YouTube - Equilibrium - Unbesiegt I'd say this is about a 7.

YouTube - Equilibrium-Der Sturm Probably a 9.

This is a little tiny bit more upbeat. YouTube - Korpiklaani - Tapporauta

And this is my favorite "happy" metal. YouTube - Korpiklaani - Happy Little Boozer

I'm not much of a metalcore fan, but I've come across a few awesome bands in that particular scene, i will admit. Parkway Drive is one of them. "Unrest," "Leviathan I," and "Set to Destroy" were my favorite songs on the new album, simply because I tend gravitate to the heaviest tracks for whatever reason, but the more melodic songs, like the ones you mentioned, are amazing.

I've been on a huge Meshuggah phase lately. Everything from Contradictions Collapse to ObZen. That's pretty much all I've listened too all week.

Recently got to know "piano metal": In Legend - Pandemonium
Not that heavy and the clip is a bit funny but I thought the song is pretty cool, especially the lyrics
