Excellent!

As far at the last link- well, I can`t phrase it quite as well as you, but I can definitely say Petrouchka is exceedingly talented. Another goosebumps performance in our repertoire

Default Fritz Wunderlich ( 1930-1966 )

thank you strawberry !!!!!
The German Tenor Fritz Wunderlich ,who died prematurely at the age of 36 had one of the most amazing voices ever.
Incredible simplicity, beautiful timbre, a voice that can melt a stone.
Here is the last song from the great cycle " Dichterliebe " ( poets love )
by Robert Schumann.
English translation of the song is povided with the clip.
For the more interested parties: the whole cycle is easily to be found on you tube, listen to it if you have some extra time,it's one of the most enchanting works for song and piano ever written.
Here is the link to the complete work with Wunderlich:

Have to ask the question. Did Salieri really have it in for you like the
movie shows? What do you think of his compositions if at all? You seem to
have gotten the better of him in the end.

Yeah, I`m curious too. Do tell!

Going back to basics: Mozart - Sonata for Two Pianos in D, K. 448 [complete] - YouTube

Maybe is placebo effect, but I feel my mind sharper when I listen to this sonata, specially the first movement.

Default Salieri

...poor old bugger Salieri...no,he didn't poison me...and between you and me and the lamp post: he hasn't got it...got bad press after the film, give the old bloke a rest now....
448 I composed on a rainy afternoon... but hey: go for:Mozart Sonata for Two Pianos in D, K. 448; 1st movement; Perahia & Lupu - YouTube

That's how it should be played, sensitive and sparkling....that's my trademark.
Not a hard currency these days. But I will be still around when the Biebers and Gagas are long gone...have survived so far 250 years...wanna bet ?

And forget about Antonio...did you listen to his works ? Do ! And report back to me...

PS And check out KV 491 on the depressed music blog...I wasn't always a happy chappy...but people didn't wanna hear that so much...and I was very good at camouflaging my real thoughts...KV 491...that's what its all about...

Hhhahaha! Thank you, Mozart. I had a good laugh with this post .

I wont wager against a 250yr old entity- not even I am that mad!!
I know the gaga`s and Biebers are going to fade fast, but not fast enough for my liking, lol .But hey, they are entitled to their minute of fame, right? In the meantime, Mozart is the king of all things classic. And.. Antonio too.I`m sensing some rivalry issues with the red priest..

I will definitely check your thread on the depressed music section. I`ll refrain from posting because I don`t want to crowd your thread there as well- I`m becoming a groupie of sorts, lol!

Yes, the first movement of Sonata 448 is my favorite--sensitive and sparkling is definitely how I`d describe it.

On all things Classic, I can`t listen to this song without feeling like it crumpled my soul in pieces: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jSotUeV0WI

Default Freire and his dog

Nelson Freire is one of the most extraordinary virtuoso pianists.
Martha Argerich often played with him 2 piano repertoire and boy...he could stand up to her.
He also has a dog,a beautiful dog. With sad eyes.
And then there is Nelson Freire playing Villa Lobos to the dog.
Nelson Freire with his dog, plays Villa-Lobos - YouTube

PS strawberry: the blog is there to be crowded...
and yes...let the Bieber and gaga fans have their minute...and their Chicken McNuggets with it...

I have a deep connection to my dog, too. That was a beautiful piece :)

Speaking of Martha and Nelson: Martha Argerich & Nelson Freire / Rachmaninoff - Suite for two pianos 1/3 - YouTube Incredible performance- sans the proverbial cough in the audience, LOL.

And like one of the commentators for this video said it best :"You know you are one of the best pianist in the world when Maisky turns your pages" Agreed!.

Chicken McNuggets.. gah. lol.
