Explosions In The Sky's "Your hand in mine" and "The only moment we were alone" off of the album The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place.

I have just started listening to EITS but so far....it has made me feel so much and provoked alot of thoughts.

What do you guys get inspired by? What makes you feel or think differently, if only for the time of the song?

I love Explosions in the Sky.

If you haven't already, check out a Silver Mt. Zion.

A lot of Brian Eno's ambient albums are also very calming, and it makes you feel like somebody is there with you. (Ambient 1, Another Day on Earth, Music for Films...etc.etc.)

As for ALWAYS having somebody feel like they're there with you during this, listen to Elliott Smith. He helped me soo much throughout my last depression episode. I really felt like he was a "friend" (even though that sounds so corny haha) But read up on his life story, if thats your thing, its pretty interesting, but it is sad.

Right now I really really love "The Naked And Famous" from New Zealand. Their song Young Blood is really good, but I also like Serenade and All of This and... well, pretty much all of their songs actually.

Donkeyboy from Norway is another band I like. Their whole album "Caught In A Life" is really good for just sitting and thinking, in my opinion. Also some songs like Face Up, Pretend and Lions by electro pop singer Lights, lots of stuff by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Savage Garden, Ladytron, Kerli Koiv, ... etc etc.

It all depends on what kind of music you like of course, but those are some of my own big ones.

I like this a lot... Ignore the title of the video, just the music in it is what I'm talking about. YouTube - The Amazing Art of Opie Ortiz I guess the song is called "My Happy Place" and it's insanely good whistling... Really groovy beat too. I especially like the part near the middle when there are two whistles going back and forth, and in my headphones it's in the right ear, then the left ear, and so on, and then they harmonize... it's really an awesome song. I almost can't believe this is really a guy whistling this. It puts me in a totally different place when I listen to this. I wish my whole day sounded like this.

Lady Gaga's Born This Way.

And Biggie's "Suicidal Thoughts" always makes me think.
