Default I just don't get it.

I just recieved word a few days ago that a good friend of mine from college was killed in a hit and run when she was on her way home and I'm at a total loss for words. I don't even know how I'm typing this now. They don't know who the driver was and the street where she was killed hadnt ever had a problem with speeders, so I'm guessing it was a drunk driver, which makes the entire case just flat out sickening. Not even 20, she had her whole life ahead of her, studying to be a teacher, and some dumb fuck decides to get behind the wheel shitfaced, taking her life in the process. Just the thought of it is unbearably overwhelming.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I wish there was something I could say that could help you, but I don't think there is anything that can be said. Please take care.

Default I am so sorry to hear of your loss.

Sometimes things happen and we don't find any meaning as to why it occured. Unfortunately, this could be one of those situations. However, what you can do for your friend, is to keep her memory alive. You can do this by talking about her; dedicating her favorite book to a library; visiting her grave side; getting to know her family. Sometimes it is only the memories that we are left with and we don't get the privilege of seeing what might have been.

Take care my friend and know that I am thinking of you and sorry to hear about the situation.

death is the disease that affects every person on the planet, it can rot your mind and deplete your body, just from second hand exposure.

death is cold, inexplicable, and just painful...

the only thing i can say is just have faith that everything happens for a reason, and that in the long run, everything will be revealed.

its still really hard, but i appreciate your responses. I've been having a really hard time concentrating @ work lately cause I'm still pretty shaken up by the whole thing. if it wasnt for my financial situation I wouldnt've gone at all this week, but i dont have any choice.

I know that it sounds cliche but time does heal some of the pain. Your heart will always have a 'chip' out of it (where she once was) but the good memories will begin slowly to cloud over some of the grief. Truthfully, some times work is the best antidote. I am thinking of you and wish you well.

Thanks, jube. I'm sure eventually I'll feel better but right now instead of the sadness I felt initially after hearing about her death, I feel more anger and resentment. The authorities STILL havent found out who was responsible. Someone's getting away with fucking murder out there and it just pisses me off. There are so many horrible people out there who live long healthy lives, yet God for some sick reason seems to get off on striking down young, innocent people instead.
