Default my goal is.....

Administrator suggests we set objectives and goals to help lift our depression and give us some hope and a sense of accomplishment. Therefore I propose that this new topic is a statement of one goal we have each week, month, day?????

I'll start by saying my goal(s) for this week is:
1. finish the watercolor I started. By the way, this is the first time I've picked up a paintbrush in 5 years.
2. Write 7 pages of one of the books I'm writing.
3. Lose three pounds.

alrighty....(and you go, kss!!)

My goal for this week is to:

1. find a karate or other self-defense type class to enroll in (to meet people)

2. find a community group of interest and go to their next meeting (to meet people)

3. figure out what i am going to do with all of the knowledge, understanding and awareness that i am finding on this forum. maybe a book? (to do something important) maybe a book of your submitted poems and stories? maybe my reactions and learned experience from here? something has to be put in writing. it's too important to leave here. the world has to know.

1) Alright! I love martial arts! It's a great and fun way to get in shape, and you'll meet some very nice and respectful people there! Excellent choice, irishred!

2) Just make sure it's a positive community group. Lord knows that negativity leads to more pain. Just be careful.

3) The world will know. *Hugs* Once our family grows, I am positive that it will be the #1 forum for depressives, bipolars, and others with mood disorders on the face of the earth! Remember, my sibling; believe.

4) Hehehe!! Run out of ideas? :P

Those are excellent goals, kss820! Just remember to never, EVER make a backdoor (i.e. quitting, finding an alternative, etc.), and raise the difficulty of achieving your goals every time. There are two very, very powerful tools in life; determination and faith. With the knowledge and mastery of these two techniques, there is virtually nothing that you can't accomplish. Welcome to our family, my sibling.

I feel like I am making a list of my New Year resolutions all over again :D
Goal #1 ... to start exercising again
Goal #2 ... eat better - healthy
Goal #3 ... to lose 10 pounds, it is bathing suit season after all 8)

way to go, sandyj!!! you sure did that quickly.

i am so excited about your goals...very good for you, depression, and overall health. i just went through that cycle since mar 05. got on the eating right, exercising, losing weight bandwagon - and i feel SOOOO much better.


so...ok, let's push each other. tomorrow i will...find out when the kickboxing/tai chi classes meet and where and all that.

tomorrow, I will start eating better - need to grocery shop :D and I will start my exercise program again.
I will need to be pushed ( okay, encouraged ) daily ...

My progress:
1. Painted a little.
2. Wrote a little. I've got three separate stories going on. One is a travel how-to book with an biographical bent. One is a story about my cat. The other is a novel in progress, about a mystical journey that a pair of twins take in order to accomplish their destiny.
3. Feeling scattered though. Hard to concentrate sometimes.
