Default Lost backing off Diamond earrings. Help!

For my birthday I bought myself some little diamond earrings. Anyway, I wore them out the first day and lost the backing off of the earrings. I was lucky I still had the diamond part. I went back to the store and they got me a new backing for free. Lucky me. Today I lost the backing again. Why me?

I've waited for almost 2 years to buy myself a gift like this. I'm embarrassed to go back to the store and ask again.

I don't wear earrings often. Anyway, I don't want to go back to the store and tell them I lost them again. 2 times in a week? OMG.

Can I use another backing? These earrings you have to SCREW the backing in. IDK. Any suggestions? Thanks. I have a couple of other pairs of earring but there all hooks. Again, any suggestions.

Just waited so long to buy these.

I hope you dont mind, I am a guy. But I have pierced ears and think I may be able to give you some pointers. I have 2 earrings in each ear. I have the horseshoes with the spikes on the end. Every once in awhile, They come loose. I start to panic and think to myself: "Great! it's gone now, I wont ever find it!" I start searching my room and panicking, searching the floor and eventually give up hope. After awhile I tell myself "Oh well, Just put a different backing on the back of it from a different pair of earrings until you find it or can replace it." Well a few days usually go by and I'll be laying in bed late at night watching tv and I'll feel something start to jab at my leg. I pull the covers off and roll out of bed to investigate what's pricking me and 9 times out of 10 it's the end of the earring that came loose and that I had lost several days before. All I can suggest is that you check how tight the backings are every few days and screw it down and tighten it as needed. I would ask the place that you got your earrings from if they wouldnt mind giving you another replacement backing. I know you've asked before and got it and dont really want to ask again, But the worst they can do is say no.

As for advice, Well if you really want to make sure you dont ever lose a backing to one of your earrings again, I'd suggest looking on ebay for large earring and jewelary lots, as close to or as similar as the ones that you have. That way when you lose a backing, All you have to do is grab a backing off of one of your spare pairs. And im almost positive you could get a nice big lot of earrings off of ebay for next to nothing.

Hope this helps!

Thanks BigD93, if you didn't tell me to go back to the store again for the 2nd time I don't think I would've gone but I manage to muster up the courage and go again. They gave me another backing for free. It's kind of embarrassing but for the second time this week I had to go back in.

So I'm happy and I hope so much that I don't lose the backing again. I waited years before I bought these diamond earrings. Thanks.

Actually, they're the ones that are selling backings that are so insecure on the earrings that they come loose all the time, apparently. You've done nothing to get embarrassed over. ;)

But like BigD said, check out eBay or Amazon or anywhere that sells craft and jewelry supplies- you can usually buy *just* the backs, and then you'd have a handful of them for whenever they fall off.
