Default I don't know what to do.

Ok so I'm being treated for depression (I've recently switched from Citalopram to Venlafaxine) and today my son has had an accident.

I was doing something in the kitchen and my little boy (who's nearly two) fell over. I don't quite know what happened, but I picked him up, gave him cuddles and then noticed my top was covered in blood. He's chipped his tooth at the front. I've checked on the internet and everything seems to say as it's a milk tooth it's nothing too serious but to get him checked out at the dentists.

Unfortunately, now I've convinced myself that if I take him to the dentist, they will take him away from me. To the point where I am sat here typing this in floods of tears and shaking like a leaf. I feel so terrible. I know he will have to go to the dentist to be checked out, but I really think they'll take him from me.

I'm a stay at home single parent, and he's all I have in my life. I wouldn't see any point in life if I didn't have him around. Losing him is my worst nightmare.

are you having a panic attack or is this a rational fear?
kids get hurt all the time.
but i know how it goes, i panicked a lot when my daughter (now 5) was smaller
if she got hurt or something happened, i always condemned myself for it
i'm around a lot if u need to talk
pm me if i don't see your posts, i tend to miss a lot
i'm on & off because i have a lot to tend to here
(((hugs)))
nice 2 meet u, by the way

Kids have accidents and do damage along the way. Is it because you are on medication that you think you will be judged? When my daughter was 18mths, she managed to stumble in a room and put a knitting needle through her lower bottom lip. She also suffered 2 green stick fractures before she was 5. She was accident prone and I think I was a good Mum but it happens. Try not to let guilt cloud your judgment here. Your little 2yr old hasn't been in the world very long and he is gonna stumble a few more times yet before he gets it right! We can't catch or watch our kids every single time and your health has nothing to do with this. When you can, unfreeze and take him to the dentist. If your child is in need of medical attention, not providing it will be harder to explain if he develops problems as a result.

You are a great Mum

((((hug))))

Constant development is the law of life, and a man who always tries to maintain his dogmas in order to appear consistent drives himself into a false position.

I understand your fear. The guilt always makes us feel like everyone else will see us as guilty too. But that's simply untrue.

Nobody would take your child away from you because he fell. If they did, none of us would have our children. :P
