Default Diaper rash

The baby has a red, raw bum and I feel so sorry for him. Does anyone know of any special remedies other than...

Baby powder/cornstarch
Balmex
Desitin
Regular bathing

I heard that his formula might cause him to have diaper rash too, not sure if this is true or not.

Nappy rash can be caused by too rich milk.

The best thing for nappy rash is fresh air. try and leave him go without his nappy for a half hour or so when convenient. He'll love the freedom to move his legs around.
In the uk we have something called sudocrem. i swear by it for babies, kids, even dogs. It heals wounds almost overnight. Brill for nappy rash.

Thanks dea, that's a good idea. I can lie a cloth over his genitals so he doesn't pee on himself.

And I must say, I think the term "nappy rash" is incredibly adorable!

Braden has a really bad case now too. The dr. prescribed Hydrocortizone cream but he screams bloody murder with it, so I am trying something called "Bag Balm". It was originally created for cows with sore udders.

My son suffers a lot with bad nappy rash, so I took him to the Dr and she gave him some cream used to treat thrush. It helped clear the rash in four days.. unfortunately, as soon as I stopped using it, the rash came back so I think I may have to make a trip again.

Hope your little one isn't suffering badly with it :(
