I'm not active at all, but I really want to be. I'm signed up for spring soccer later this/next month, but... school and work get in the way of letting me take walks around (plus, transportation issues limits me from going to a safe park to go to)-- can anyone help me with ways to be more active every day (even a little bit)? Until summer is here, I can't go on long-ish runs

There's a huge hill not far from my house. I go jogging with my dog down to it, which takes about 15-20 minutes. When I get to the hill, I sprint up and walk down it until I'm exhausted (4 times is all I can manage so far this season)... and then walk/run back home. It's a great workout, and I feel damn good afterwords. My dog loves it too!

It's been cold here for the past couple days, and when that happens, I don't feel like going on my daily run routine. After missing only 3 days of it, my mood was plummeting fast, but finally went out again today, and feel so much better after it.

Oh the possibilities! Transportation/scheduling might be a problem for these too, but is there anything physical that you've wanted to learn, like dance, yoga, martial arts, or even cooking (keeps you on your feet a long time!)? There might be classes for these in your area that you could join. Joining a gym is a good option for you too since you don't necessarily have to be there for specific times, so might be easier to squeeze into your day.

If your schedule is too hectic, you could look into getting some exercise DVDs, that way you could get a good work out at home whenever time allows.
