Default eye infection

Okay I don't have money to go to a dr plus the fact that I am not at my own house or state. So 2 days ago my left eye started hurting. Keep iin mind I wear contacts. Only my left eye hurt so I left my contacts in. Yesterday when I woke up my eye still hurt so my boyfriend asked me to take my contacts out. I took them out and when I looked in the mirror the skin by my nose and tear duct was red and swollen. I have been wearing glasses since yesterday and so far it hasn't helped. It hurts to blink and its really annoying. Anyone have any suggestions or past experiences with something like this?

contacts can really give bad eye infections... i dont know of any ointment over the counter that treats this infections..

please keep in mind that all the skin near the eye area is xtremelly sensitive! i know that u dont have the means right now,but i will strongly recommend u get medical care.. even to ER if u have to..

one thing that can refresh ur eyes a bit, is moisten tea bags with lukewarm water over ur eyes .. this can help to reduce the irritation.

hope u get this taken care of!!

I've had something similar from my contacts too I think. Try not rubbing or touching your eyes as this will irritate them more. Dab your eyelids with cold water (or cucumbers) every now and then and try not doing anything which requires focusing such as reading or staring at the computer screen too much. You did the right thing by taking your contacts out, only start wearing them again when you feel your eye has completed recovered. It should be over with in a day or two. Good luck, get well soon :)

It may be caused most probably by your contacts but do you see inside a small white area near or in the red part?

Hey punk!!!! Sorry your eye hurts. I would try what everyone's suggested and if it doesn't help than go to the ER. You don't wanna mess with your eyes, they're the only ones you got lol.....((((hugs))))

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. My dad is calling the eye doctor to see if they can suggest anything. I have night and day contacts so I don't remove them at night.

There is no white area anywhere near the messed up eye. I really hope it isn't pink eye.

My dad suggested placing a warm washcloth on the eye once or twice a day. And I have heard about the teabag one and the cucumber one. So ik gonna try what you all have suggested.

Thanks everyone will keep you updated.

Really hope its better by Friday cause this weekend we are going to six flags amuesment park and glasses and roller coasters just don't mix.
