I found this episode of Scientific American Frontiers
, which explores some of our body's nutrition process, and looks at various dietary stuff.
It also documents 10 people attempting different dietary and weight loss tactics. Pretty good stuff.
The site is kinda confusing - click small red picture/text that reads "play video," and not "go."
Bonus! It's got Alan Alda narrating! I just find him interesting, entertaining.
What I found most interesting, though, were the two people who had gastric bypass surgeries. I didn't know what it meant until now, and frankly it looks scary, and extremely invasive. Yikes.
Fortunate for me: As it turns out, the person on this program with the most success was using the Zone diet. Earlier this week, I read through a small book outlining the Zone diet
, and have another, more in-depth book on the way. I'm going to start that method within the week, I think; the next time I go food shopping. I think I'm gonna document it too. That'll probably help me stick to it.
