Unhappy Rough first day at job

Today, I started my new job making crafts to sell on Etsy. Problem is I goof off more than I craft, and I had a hard time deciding what to make as a result. I ultimately decided to make a necklace, but it doesn't look good enough in my eyes. Even worse, my two co-workers are more experienced than I am (one knows how to crochet). I want to learn to craft more, but my brain could only process so much before I abandon it.

I want to learn to fuse Perler beads, but my workplace doesn't have the supplies, and I never thought of it until recently. I want to just give up on this job altogether, but it is our only source of income at the moment. I want to talk to my supervisor, but my social skills are sub-par, making it hard to to ask for anything. I feel like I missed out on life due to technology. And my house is such a mess, I don't have a special area to do crafts. I wish I could just give up and walk out.

That sounds like a really fun job. Your attitude determines your altitude. Maybe buy a crochet needle and ask your co-worker to teach you to crochet? Or learn to knit?

I love Etsy things, so this is interesting.I can see how it could be discouraging trying to think of something different from your coworkers. You probably need a very simple and easy-to-repeat project, just something really attractive to the eye.

If you want a couple of ideas, lately I love any jewelry that has little superheroes images on them, like from vintage or newer comic books. Those could be made different ways — using decoupage, resin, or whatever. Those same comic book images put on little notebooks or tiny boxes would appeal to me too (decoupaged or varnished on?).

I also love those no-sew pillows and pet beds. Some look like Pop Tarts and donuts. You can see some great colors and examples on AwwSam.com.
