Default Feel Bad About Lack of Success

I went to a really good school. I got a useless degree and now I'm struggling. I've been unemployed for about two months. Before that, I was underemployed.

I think I'm smart.

Most importantly, I believe I have the right attitude. I love everyone as much as I love my mother, I don't resent anyone, I don't play the victim, I don't see myself as oppressed as a black woman, I'm proud to be American.

It's so unfair. I have known people who see racism everywhere, who are angry, who take their frustrations out on other people, who agree with the killing of cops, yet they're millionaires!

Why am I not successful?? Is it too late?? I'm 34. It's time to start making a real living!!

My friend, always believe in yourself.

You are certainly intelligent, of that there is no doubt. What might be measured as success I think is different to everyone. I don't earn a lot for what I put in, but I count it as successful if my clients are happy and I'm earning enough to feed my family. I am finally being rewarded for eight years in the company, and it looks like it may have paid off.

The world isn't fair for sure. Many people that honestly don't deserve it all have it all. I think we have to know what is right to be counted as success to each of us. You are a great person and that has a lot of value in itself, keep believing in what you are going for. Oh and yes, I'm 37 so no, it's never too late.

I agree with Andino. Success can be defined in many ways. For a lot of people success means money, fame, mansions, fancy cars etc.

For others it means doing something you love (regardless of the salary), keeping fit and healthy or having a close and loving bond with your family. Or maybe having a connection with some real good friends.

I guess success is whatever makes YOU feel content and at peace.

PS don't forget that being a millionaire will attract snakes who pretend to care about you.

I agree. It is fate. Or destiny or whatever you call it.

I also know that there is always balance in life, after storm there is rainbow and sunshine, and for those who are always in sunshine, there will be dark times some day (not wishing, but assuming).

Sensual Girl, just keep trying, you'll find a way to success.

When you find it, let me know what you did, because I am in same shoes

But it's not about how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward...

Whose version of success are you trying to achieve, yours or societies, success means something different to everyone, and your own will change too, Once upon a time my version of success was just surviving And not trying suicide again, And now my version of success is just being who I am And being happy with that
