Default Why is there such shame in being big?

Maybe I shouldn't be posting this but I see nothing wrong with big people. Men or women. My wife is about 5'8" and her weight is somewhere between 150-160LBS. and I love it. It is not what you look like it's who you are. And if any member of the opposite (SP?) (or same sex) tells you otherwise they weren't worth your time anyway! I find bigger women sexy. So, to all the women who think all men find thin sexy you are wrong ladies! Some men hate boney, thin women. But enough of all that kind of talk. Why is there so much shame? Really, what is wrong with being a plump lady? Please tell me!!! I really want to know & I want to know why ladies think guys don't want to be with them because of it! (Note: most men don't have this problem but if you do please respond).

To be honest with you, my opinion, it's society! They show all the catalogs with beautiful small framed, sex, beautiful bodies. They try so hard to get not only kids, teens, & women to WANT to be like that......skinny is where it's at mentallity. I think it's wrong! Beauty IS on the inside & so what, you don't look like a model, but alas, the world has become so shall! That's my feelings on it & I'm not skinny, let's just that! It just hit me, even when I look at commericals, read a magizine, or whatever, it's almost like they're ramming it down my throat......wouldn't you like to look like this, don't you want to loose all that weight....it hurt & then you get MORE down on yourself, because you can't lose it or will never look like that again. That's my 2 cents on the matter!

Blessings!

But why should ads, TV, & Hollywood tell you what to look like? You are what you are! As long as some one loves you or if you find someone to love you as you are, what's the problem? I fell in love with my wife before I really knew what she looked like (25 days of phone conversations & I have never looked back!) and she has some fat on her but that doesn't affect me in a negative way. She still drives me crazy(Clothes on or off)! So, why should what ads, TV or Hollywood say have to do with it? Just be yourself and love will follow.

You know it shouldn't but it does! Every commercial that you see is got the "thin" theme, I just got to the point where it's whatever! My daughter's going through that "I'm fat" stage @ 16 yrs old, it just sucks! Kids make fun of fat people, my daughter did that once, I told her, that could be the nicest man/woman you could ever want to met, why judge them on outsides?! She didn't do it again, at least that I know of, but I still think in a major way society is to blame.

Blessings!

I saw the episode of Tyra when she went undercover as a 350 lb. person. When she discussed what it was like, I remember thinking, I'm not alone.

You know, it was weird that you said that, I was thinking of her!(Great minds think alike!) She's one that's so stuck on herself, while I know she's beautiful outside, I hope it gave her a wake up call, beauty comes in all shapes & sizes!

Blessings!

We must be connected telepathically

I don't think she's so stuck on herself. I think she really understood what it was like to be big and no one sees past the fat mentallity.

I said that she was, because there was an interview that she did or an article that I read, it didn't please me, that's why I said that. It would be great, I always tell my daughter, if we could just turn inside out for the day! Nobody would know color, sex, religion, skinny/fat, it would just be all red & then my daughter said that I needed help......LMAO

Blessings!

I agree we should all be turned inside out! But I cannot, for the life of me, realize the shame in being a bigger woman! (and before you jump to conclusions) I have been called a hillbilly, white trash, redneck, honkey, and much worse. Maybe I am one of the only few men in the USA that like bigger women (I refuse from this point forward say big woman). However, they are out there. (I hope that I don't get banned!!!) I lost my virginity to a bigger woman. It was my decision to do it and I loved every inch (HER!) of it. I still don't see the prejudice (and I know that it's there) towards bigger women & men. Why should it be there? Why (besides the majority) should you feel it?
