Unhappy Overweight with almost no motivation left

I'm currently over 100 lbs overweight (about 235 total lbs) and I worry I will remain heavy for the rest of my life. I'm 35 and I have high blood pressure. But it's been very hard to avoid take-out foods and drink diet colas instead of water everyday. Please help. I need motivation. I would like to live past 40

Living past 40 not enough motivation?

If it really affects you badly, mentally etc. in this country at least you can have surgery but you gota have a good reason to get it free... not just "im fat and need to loose weight". They like to see that its the last option sort of thing after dieting.

I never said anything about getting surgery. Many people don't have that kind of money to spend. I'm sorry but your reply was not very helpful

I lost 68 lbs because I wanted to get a girl to like me. It was a horrible way to go about it, but it was the only way I could keep myself motivated. Once you start losing weight and seeing the difference in the way strangers look at you, it falls into place from there on. Good luck.

If you go on an extreme diet and hit the gym like a manic, you won't stick with it. You know this, I know this. But if you just make little changes... who knows what can happen? Try replacing one of your meals with something healthy, like a salad, or make one of your snacks some fruit. Eat whatever you like the rest of the time, but make sure that at least once a day you eat something healthy instead of eating shit. Walk places instead of driving. Wholemeal bread, pasta and rice instead of white. Just make little changes, you'd be surprised at the difference they can make.

Taking walks was the first thing I did to start losing weight, and the rest kind of followed naturally. It's hard at first, but it's easier if you always have a destination. My destination was usually food-related.
After that, I cut out soda and eventually started adding healthier food and more exercise. I still eat a lot of crap, but I'm better off than I was, and I hope I'll keep improving. It's important not to give up, but also to be patient, and stop hating yourself so much for it.
